Should I Worry About Security? Is There a Risk of Fraud?

Our service has been successfully operating for over 10 years – the first marketplace was launched in December 2013.

We provide secure buying and selling for our users when all instructions are followed. However, to ensure your transaction goes as smoothly as possible, we recommend being attentive and avoiding the following mistakes:

1. Do Not Share Your Steam Account Login, Password, or Steam Guard Code!

One of the most common methods of item theft is gaining access to your Steam account through a phishing login page. Scammers lure users to a fake site where they ask you to manually enter your login, password, and Steam Guard code. To avoid this, enable password autofill in your browser. If, when attempting to log into a site via Steam, you are not prompted to autofill your login and password, it's a fraudulent site, and you should not enter your details manually.

2. Do Not Share Your Trade Link!

By sharing your trade link (trade URL) with strangers, you risk receiving unwanted trades and becoming a victim of fraud. Also, never share your Steam API key, Market.CSGO API key, Steam login, or the email linked to your account. If you set up a payment password on our site, make sure it is different from your Steam password. Do not use the same nickname in the Market.CSGO chat as in Steam. It is also recommended to clear the nickname change history in your Steam account.

3. Do Not Accept Incoming Trade Offers If You Are a Seller!

The system will not credit funds for such trades. Remember that the Market.CSGO application or extension automatically creates outgoing trades to the correct buyer. Your task is to confirm the trade in the Steam mobile app. If you receive an incoming trade offer for your item, decline it, block the sender, and report it to Market.CSGO support.

4. Be Cautious in Personal Messages!

- If someone messages you on Steam pretending to be a buyer from Market.CSGO and offers to purchase your items, they are most likely scammers. They should be ignored.

- It is recommended not to negotiate deals in personal messages, especially if you have little experience in trading.

- Do not trust those who ask you to withdraw money to their card, offering to cancel the withdrawal request as a guarantee.

- If someone asks you to inspect an item, simply show your inventory in Steam – the buyer can check all the item's parameters themselves.

- If someone claims that this is not sufficient and requires additional checks, it is a scam.

5. Our Site Does Not Use Bots to List Items for Sale

If, when listing items for sale, you receive a trade offer from a profile with a nickname like “market.csgo.com Bot #245”, do not accept this trade – it is a scam.
